Health and Wellbeing

Health and Wellbeing are planned lessons unique to year 8 and year 9. These lessons have a strong focus on equipping our stu-dents with the knowledge, skills and understanding of health and wellbeing and the impact it has on our day to day life.
Health and wellbeing deals with the real life issues young people face as they grow up. It equips them with the knowledge, under-standing, and correct attitudes in order to help live a healthy, safe and fulfilled life. With the new additions to the 2020 statutory framework, the curriculum will now include; healthy relationships, sex education and menstrual health. The curriculum also intends to help students understand mental health in more detail, delving into the stigma and issues surrounding it, whilst looking at the link between physical and mental health.
