On Thursday 2nd February, The Urswick School was proud to host a five-a-side football tournament to mark the retirement of Sir Bernard Hogan- Howe, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, who is a keen five-a-side footballer and took part in the event.

Our 6th form students played amongst 3 other teams, including local Hackney officers, competing in their new Urswick School football tops donated by Principal, suppliers of the school's printers and copiers. Playing for the school were Year 13 students John Herbert, Joshua Adjei, Michael Momodu, Christopher Monga, Fara Mendes, Adil Abdi as well as Year 12 students Simon Ly and Caiampo Gomes. Our Sixth Form team finished third winning their final game 5 - 0. All the other teams congratulated them on their sporting attitude. The Hackney officers won the final, winning the tournament and walking away with the trophy.

Finishing the evening, Sir Bernard thanked everyone at the school for their hospitality. It was a great evening enjoyed by all involved.
