Urswick’s ‘Outstanding’ Sixth Form

Newly released data about the school’s Sixth Form results in 2017 have led to our Sixth Form Academy being categorised as ‘Outstanding’.

An organisation called Alps (Advanced Level Performance System) evaluates the data of schools and college Sixth Forms. Each school is then given an Alps score in respect of how much progress students have made from their different starting points and the effectiveness of the teaching students receive. In 2017 our Alps scores for Year 12 AS Level, Year 13 ‘A’ level and vocational qualifications places The Urswick School Sixth Form Academy in the top 10% of schools nationally.

We are celebrating the fifth anniversary of our sixth form. Staff and students have worked tremendously hard to create our Outstanding Sixth Form, which will expand further in the next two years.

We are looking forward to welcoming back our new year 12 and year 13 students who have enrolment interviews this week.

Believe and Achieve
