Exam Results

Stronger Outcomes. High Expectations. An Inclusive School.

At The Urswick School, we believe that strong academic achievement and genuine inclusion go hand in hand. Our 2026 examination results demonstrate the significant progress being made across the school, from GCSE through to Sixth Form.

This improvement is particularly significant because of the starting points of the cohort. At the beginning of Year 11, our analysis indicated that approximately 39% of students were securely on track to achieve the English and Mathematics threshold. Through high-quality teaching, carefully targeted support and the determination of our students, this rose to 64% in the final examinations.
Just as importantly, these improvements were achieved while maintaining our commitment to being an inclusive school with high expectations. In 2025/26, The Urswick School recorded zero permanent exclusions, with suspensions driven from over 150 to single figures.

Our ambition is now to build on this progress so that strong achievement becomes consistent across every subject and every year group.

These results are particularly important to us because The Urswick Sixth Form is deliberately inclusive. We are committed to giving young people the opportunity to succeed, including students from disadvantaged backgrounds and those whose prior attainment may mean that other Sixth Forms are less willing to offer them a place.
