Spiritual Development at the Urswick School
Collective Worship
Daily collective worship is a key part of our spiritual feeding at the Urswick School.Students reflect in Family Learning Time via our Thought for the Week programme, and in weekly assemblies as year groups.
Our team of student prayerfects and our KS3 Urswick Scholars lead on reflections with their family learning groups, and in organising and delivering larger acts of collective worship.

Chapel
St Augustine’s Chapel is named after the original name of our partner-church, St Augustine’s Hackney (now St John-at-Hackney).
It is open to all, as a place of private prayer, daily reflection, and weekly clubs and fellowship.Every Wednesday sees ChapelClub for KS3 and KS4, led by the youth team at Hackney Church, and a Sixth Form Christian Union run by members of the Sixth Form team.

Multi-faith space
Students are also invited to pray and reflect in our multi-faith prayer space. This room contains a Qiblah wall, prayer mats and reflective resources, as well as sinks for washing before prayer. In addition to its daily use, it hosts Jummah prayer on a Friday, led by members of staff or the Sixth Form team.
