Royal Veterinary College Trip
Featured Article Year 10 science students went on a trip to the Royal Veterinary College to attend the afternoon anatomy session. Here they got to explore what it was like to be a Veterinary student at university. Students had the opportunity to use the university's high tech microscopes to observe the tissues in a rat's leg along with preserved mites. After this, the students were shown how a specimen is preserved and stained to create microscope slides followed by a campus tour. In the afternoon, the year 10s donned their lab coats and gloves before dissecting a rat. Students were able to carefully open the rat to observe its internal anatomy before removing and identifying the different organs.
